LIFE.... AS IT COMES (CHAPTER 12)

“Honey?”

“Hmmmm?”

“Won’t you tell them our secret?”

Tam was giving Danny a very silly and foolhardy, according to Ryan. He didn’t quite like the look of things. But wasn’t it him who had suggested that they could have a scene? His thoughts lead him to miss a part of their conversation.

“We then realize that we are in love! Can you believe it? It’s all like a fairytale to me!” Tam was gushing. Kunal secretly made a face at this. This was so not Tam. Tam never gushed. She was the iron lady who rarely lead emotions waver her or partake in any decisions of life. But wasn’t this like too much? He wondered to himself.

“So, here we are humble in front of you waiting for you guys to accept our love for each other and bless us!” said Danny as he picked up Tam’s hand and kissed it vey slowly and deliberately till she blushed all red!

Sheila was totally shell shocked! Oh my god, she thought, this was how Tam was behaving? It was looking so unlike Tam. Where did her towering personality disappear? Her friend was behaving like a girlfriend in a bad mushy romantic movie!

“Awwww sweetheart don’t blush so much! You will burn my hand!” said Danny while stroking Tam’s cheeks.

“Maybe it will stop if you kiss it?” said Tam in a teasing voice.

“Uh huh! Maybe I will not just stop at that!” said Danny as he took her face in his hands.

“I’ll get some water.”

“I need to pee.”

“I’ll get the desert!”

With these the three of them walked out of the room as fast as their legs could carry them. Once inside the kitchen they all heaved a sigh of relief!

“Gosh! What was that going on outside? It was freaking me out!” Said Kunal flustered.

“Freaking you out? It wanted to make me puke! What was she doing out there? Didn’t they realize that even we were present out there? Man!” said Sheila as she tried too shake the gooey image from her head.

“And what’s wrong with Tam? This is so not her! And Danny! He is behaving like a suave businessman. You remember him right? If my memory isn’t failing me then please tell me wasn’t he the geek with the goatee? Who used to talk figures all the time? Then who is this guy?” Ryan wondered aloud.

“You know what? We should talk to Tam about it. Ask her what’s really going on?” Kunal said.

“Are you mad? This is the only real relationship she has had in a long time! How can you even think of spoiling it?” Sheila shouted.

“Sheila is right. Wait. She will tell us. I just have a feeling that something is really wrong with this guy. And Tam is too blind to see this.” Ryan declared.

As the three friends were thinking over Danny’s makeover they heard Tam’s cheery voice called out to them.

“Guys! Danny is leaving!”

They looked at each other and in a mutual silent way they agreed to go out and check Danny again. And also for Tam’s sake.

When they reached the living room Tam and Danny were nearing the front door.

“Guys it was great meeting you. But I really have to go. You see important call from the office. They really can’t do without me, you know! I know you guys really want me to stay but I can’t do it!” Said Danny

The three of them grimaced at that hoping it would pass as a smile. They looked over at Tam and saw she had eyes only for Danny.

“But I will miss you!” said Tam in a morose voice.

“Oh honey! Am going to miss you too! Come here. Oh by the way Sheila don’t forget tomorrow!” Said Danny as he pulled Tam into his arms.

“Umm yeah.” said Sheila as she looked at Tam.

With that Tam nestled closer to Danny when he picked her chin up with her fingers and slowly started kissing her on the lips.

Horrified the three friends turned their back to them and walked to the kitchen.

“Kissing? In the house? In front of us? What is the world coming to?” wondered Kunal aloud.

“No. What is Tam coming to?” corrected Ryan as Sheila nodded her head.
