Kunal was standing with his hands crossed over his chest. He was compolating, sorry, contemplating. From childhood he had a problem in pronouncing certain words. But it didn’t really matter to Kunal. As long as people really understood what he meant.
He was looking down at Tam, pretending to listen to her, as she was earnestly making Sheila and Ryan understand the role of Rohit in her life. They were both donning curious faces but to Kunal, it appeared as if they were overdoing it.
He never really understood what had transpired between them the other day. He always liked knowing what was actually going on around him. He was curious and he couldn’t help it. Girls used to make fun at his expense due to his habit.
Now, standing in front of his friend-cum-flat-mate, he had figured out Tam and her life. Tam was like a coconut. Hard from the outside but soft from the inside. And also foolish. She had no idea who loved her and who was using her. Also whom she loved. She had the aptitude of misunderstanding matters of the heart. She wouldn’t probably recognize the truth even if the truth danced naked in front of her.
But Ryan and Sheila was way beyond him. He could never fathom what happens between them. Actually, he had never guessed that the ‘between them’ phrase would ever arise. But it had happened. And neither had he missed the soft look and touch that had transpired between them in Sheila’s room earlier.
“Kunal?”
He felt a soft nudge at his elbow. It was Ryan. He was frantically gesturing towards Tam.
“Kunal. I need to know what to do you think. Should I confront Danny?”
It was Tam. A few innocent minutes ago she had received a call from Rohit, who was safe in US, and was actually planning a trip to India. After 15 years. Reason was that he had graduated as a doctor and wanted to visit his country before writing his life off to the service of the sick and ailing.
“No. I don’t think you should.” Replied Kunal softly.
The others raised their eyebrows at this. Even Tam. She had never expected Kunal to say so. Sheila and Ryan just now convinced her that confronting Danny was definitely a good solution to the entire thing. And now Kunal was backing from supporting her at the most crucial moment.
“Kunal. What are you saying? We had already discussed this!” hissed Sheila at his direction.
Kunal completely ignored her and instead focused his entire thought to Tam alone.
“Tam what is his fault? That he has loved you like crazy from the moment he set his eyes on you? And continues to love you? Is that his fault? Is it his fault that he cares about you and very well knows that nobody apart from you make him happy?
Just for you he underwent a complete makeover. So that he could match up to you! And you now want to throw him away once you get what you want? Is this what you do? Use people and then throw them away? He was your companion when your best friend had abandoned him. And nobody asked him to do that. But he did it of his own accord! And yet you want to confront him?”
Sheila and Ryan were wildly gesticulating at each other to make Kunal stop. Coz till then none had told Tam about the scene in Sheila had witnessed and all the stuff she heard at Danny’s office. And neither of them wanted the whole thing to come out wrong!
“Kunal? How on earth did you know so much?” Tam asked him slowly.
“Why Sheila told us!” Kunal answered simply.
He incidentally had no idea that that part of the information was withheld from Tam.
Tam turned to Sheila.
“Sheila?” she asked, her voice uneven.
“Well.... ummmm.... you see.... ahem” stammered Sheila as Ryan was wildly nodding his head, forbidding her to say any further.
Kunal looked at the pair of them and finally cottoned onto the fact that Tam had no idea about that incident.
“Oh! I understand now. So you didn’t tell Tam till now about the near naked girl in Danny’s office and what he confessed to you, right? Sorry Tam my mistake. I will repeat my comments later again once Sheila explains to you what she saw there.”

Nice chapter . Kunal is potrayed as a simple outspoken character. But till now I dont see Kunal playin a major role. I guess he will have an important role later. good chapter

Kunal is really a nice person.The ending of the chapter is very good.
